How your heart works
There are four rooms in your heart - two are called atria and two are called ventricles. Oxygen-rich blood from the lung flows to the left atrium, then to the left ventricle, which is pumped into the body. Blood returns to the right atrium, and the right ventricle returns oxygen to the lungs. The four valves function like a one-way door that directs blood through your heart. If you do not suffer from heart disease it will be over.
